Building Maintenance Basics

At the beginning of each inspection I explain to my clients that there are three physical forces that destroy buildings; Ultraviolet Light (UV), Heat and Moisture. Manage these forces and you will reduce maintenance and energy costs

Air is a transport mechanism for heat and moisture.

So, If you can control the movement of air, heat and moisture that’s a good thing.

Here’s an example: One of the forced air Heating and Cooling (HVAC) systems at Villa International Atlanta did not have balanced airflow.

Watch the video to see how your Eco-Inspector solved the problem. A note: after we shot the video I discovered some additional defects and corrected them. We now have a healthy, dry and comfortable office wing at Villa.
